About Peddler's Keep Owner, Jon Carson
Most collectors know the feeling.
You spend years building knowledge, hunting for pieces, learning makers, studying marks, and trusting your instincts, only to sit across from someone charging hundreds of dollars an hour who dismisses an entire collection in minutes because it falls outside their narrow specialty.
That experience is exactly what led Jon Carson to create Peddler’s Keep.
After navigating the traditional appraisal process for his own collection, Jon quickly realized there was a major gap in the Canadian collectibles world, especially when it came to Western Canadian studio pottery and overlooked makers. Important pieces were being ignored, not because they lacked significance, but because the people evaluating them simply didn’t understand the history behind them.
Peddler's keep was built to change that.
Jon specializes in Western Canadian studio pottery, maker’s marks, collector research, and identifying pieces that are often misunderstood or undervalued in traditional appraisal settings. His approach combines hands-on collector experience, independent research, and a deep respect for the stories behind the objects people have spent decades collecting.
For Jon, this work is about more than value.
It’s about preserving knowledge, recognizing craftsmanship, and helping collectors feel seen instead of dismissed.
Before launching Peddler’s Keep, Jon served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Alberta from 2015 to 2023, representing Edmonton-Meadowlark and Edmonton-West Henday. Prior to public service, he trained as an electrician after studying radio and television broadcasting at NAIT.
That background shaped the way he approaches research and communication today, practical, direct, and people-first.

Do I need an appointment for spa services?
Yes, we recommend booking appointments in advance to ensure you get your preferred date and service time. Certain high-demand services do fill up quickly. Walk-in appointments may be accommodated if availability allows. Contact us or conveniently book online 24/7.
What should I wear during my spa visit?
Disrobe to your comfort level for massages and body treatments. Undergarments or swimsuits are typically worn. Our staff provides robes and ensures your privacy. For facials, leave your face clean of make-up. Pedicures are done with feet bare, manicures leave fingernail polish off one hand receiving treatment. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
I’m pregnant - can I still enjoy spa treatments?
Many of our treatments can be safely adjusted for pregnancy. We customize the treatments to properly support moms-to-be. Please inform us during booking so we can determine any contraindications and provide specialized support throughout your comforting spa experience. Please also let us know of any other health conditions.
